How many classes do I book?

Is there a joining fee?
All families enrolling in our classes must become a Crêchendo Playgyms Member. Membership costs £20 to join for your first child, and is free for all subsequent siblings. There is no annual renewal fee. Each child who enrols in classes will receive a Crêchendo Playgyms Membership Pack which includes a t-shirt and other goodies, including regular members newsletters.

What’s the Playgyms Guarantee?
All new children enrolling at Crêchendo are covered by Crêchendo’s refund guarantee. Some children take longer than others to settle into a new group, but children usually take quickly to Crêchendo’s friendly format. However, if for any reason during your first block of classes you feel that our programme isn’t right for your child, simply call our office and we will be happy to refund the remainder of your booking.

What happens when I need to move up to the next age group?
You may transfer age group mid-enrolment if your child is ready for the next class – i.e. you don’t have wait until your next 12-week enrolment begins.

Do I need to attend with my child?
All children attending Crêchendo Playgyms need to be accompanied by a parent, nanny, grandparent or carer except for children attending Childsplay classes. Your participation in classes is an essential part of the Crêchendo programme as the encouragement and support you give your child really helps build their confidence and self-esteem.

What should we wear to class?
Come in comfortable clothes that you can move around in. Our main stipulation is for children to participate in bare feet, as socks are not safe on the equipment. Adults should have bare or stockinged feet.

What happens in a class?
The class structure is different for each age group but all classes start with group time and action songs to warm up. Then it’s on to our interactive physical play circuit with a range of age-appropriate activities to challenge and stimulate. Each class ends with an action story acted out by our class leaders and some more songs and rhymes.

What happens if I miss a class?
We give several options for recovering missed classes:

Holiday Option: We give every child a 'holiday-class' allowance. Provided that you notify us of your absence more than 24 hours in advance, we can add 1 class to the end of each 12-week block.

Flexi Bookings: At certain times of year, mainly July and over Christmas, we offer additional flexibility when family holiday dates do not coincide with Crêchendo holiday dates. Please ask for details.

Missed Class Make-Ups: If you are missing a class through illness etc, please let us know as soon as you can and you may book a free 'make-up' class in any other class during your current enrolment. There is no limit to the number of make-ups you may do within the booking period.

Bring a Friend Make-Ups: Providing there is space you may book in a friend to bring their child to your class with you to make up for a missed class.

Please note that we do not give refunds if you miss an occasional class as your place is reserved for your 12-week booking.

What if I am moving house or have to stop classes?
If you are unable to complete your booking simply call our office at least two weeks before you wish to stop and we will refund the balance of your classes.

Alternatively, we can put your classes 'on hold', without notice, for your child or one of their siblings to use in the future. Please note that we are not able to give refunds retrospectively.
